About our event -
We're is an invite-only event for disabled veterans from Project Healing Waters, and their families
Stars & Stripers is a non-profit community fishing event on Kent Island, Maryland. We host disabled veterans and active duty military in Project Healing Waters programs and their families.
In our 2023 event, over sixty veterans went fishing on the Chesapeake - for some, it was their first time fishing in saltwater.
Stars & Stripers is non-profit, self-funded, entirely supported by volunteers and tax-free donations from our sponsors.
We rely completely on outside donations to serve our veterans.
Our sponsors & donors include the many captains who volunteer to guide our veterans, Maryland & Delaware Hardee's Restaurants, the Kent Island Yacht Club, Centreville American Legion, the Elks, VFW, Ebb Tide Rentals, Fisherman's Crab Deck, and a host of local supporters.
